Change of scenery

To all those who have enjoyed this blog I am sorry to abandon it in this manner.

If you wish to see my new blog please visit:

There, it is done.

The reasons for leaving are mostly due to the spam that I've found in my comments. I'm sick of it. It's for comments not shameless advertising! For shame!

Exciting Semester

This semester has been completely insane. I am sorry for the lack of posts, but my job at school has taken a lot of my time and prevented me from really having much of a social life. Cassie and I have been hanging out some nights in the fourth floor lobby watching tv. Not lately though cause of homework and a lot of other things.

Where do you work, and what do you do? I work at Lowry Hall, for Technology Support Services doing E-rate for schools. E-rate is a program that was set up for schools to be able to get internal connections, telecommunications, and various other technology services paid in part by the government. The percentage that is paid for by the government depends on the amount of students that are eligible for the National School Lunch Program divide that by the number of students.

I fill out various forms one being the school saying, "I want some service provider to do my internet connections" the one following is "I found someone here is who it is and for how much". After that there is one on This is when the service started" and "I want this money reimbersed to me and the service provider." It's long, drawn out, and very techincal.

What else have you been doing this semester, besides work? Well... I have three studio courses that I am taking. Drawing 111, Advanced 3D Max, and Photography are all really fun but can be a little overwhelming. There is another class that I am taking this semester that I took my freshman year, but didn't pass cause my teacher sucked.

More later.

Wheee!

This semester I have been determined to prove to myself that I can manage my time better than I have in the past. This is partly because I have three studio courses that require large amounts of out of class time, but also due to my new job which needs me to be on top of things.

This past weekend I allowed myself to "sag" in keeping track of my time quite a bit. This became quite noticable on Monday when I realised that there was a lot of things that were due Monday, Wed, Thurs, and Friday that I could have been working on all weekend but chose to play games on my computer.

I've told my self for this week, I won't be playing games until I am able to catch up on what I need to. I know three studio courses isn't exactly the brightest idea (Kevin has four so it is even crazier for him), but sometimes you have to do what you have to do and get things done.

So, as you can tell this weekend wasn't productive at all and that's pretty much all I have to say about them. My iPod nano isn't here yet, which makes me a little sad but since I personalised it Kevin says it will be a bit longer. I also bought the full season of "Full Metal Panic" a VERY weird and interesting anime from England for only $35.00. Last night I purchased the new(?) "Foolish Things" CD. My photography paper for class should be in soon, hopefully....

Now that I am awake enough to walk around I'm going to start getting ready for work. :3 See ya.

Update : How my life is going.

As I sit here in Emry Lobby contemplating sleep at 2:30 in the morning I check how long it has been since I've updated my blog. Sadly it has been almost two months. For a while I had lost motivation since hardly anyone comments and I feel no one even bothers reading it.

This past month has been quite amazing and horribly busy. I am not just saying this because of school, like every other college student. So you understand how confusing and strange this past month has been I will talk about it in detail.

During the end of the summer I got a job working in Lowry Hall as work study. I really liked my jobs, and since the hours were few (being part time) I was able to really put myself into my work and excell. On the last day of work study, the main man's secritary asked to talk to me with the boss. I was a little amazed, but followed anyway knowing that both of them were really cool people.

In the bosses office he told me that they wanted me to stay and work as an E-rate person as well as their web development person. I started the following Monday, and have been there ever since. It is a fun job, so far I have yet to fill out forms for schools (e-rate) but they are due soon so it will be coming next week.

My favorite Aunt Lucielle passed away the first couple days before we were moving into the dorms. My mother and sister flew down to Texas to go to the funeral and see how the family (my dad's) was taking it. They were all doing well, she had been getting pretty old so they all knew it would be soon anyway.

Within a couple days after Mom and Melonie came back, Mom got news from someone my dad works with that he hasn't been doing well. After talking to him on the phone and seen how well he was, Melonie and Mom went to Louisianna to pick him up and bring him home.

When he arrived here he was in horrible condition. He has some serious diabetes, and when his insulin froze a couple weeks ago he kept using it anyway. This resulted in his condition since it wasn't doing it's job. He is doing better now and slowly gaining strength and what not. The best thing that came out of this was that he had given up drinking. He has always been a drinker.

I am going to bed now, more information and details will come later.

Bye.

Dieter

Hey,
It's been a while. Appologies. Busyness, and work have kept me from posting as well as no motivation. Instead of updating you on all that has gone on, I'll just start from this evening and post as other things go on.

My mother and I began the South Beach Diet on Monday. If you would like to find out more, go to http://www.southbeachdiet.com. Mom said, as of yesterday morning she had lost six pounds. I've lost one as of this evening. My lack in pounds missing is due to a bachelorette party, and reception this past week. Two days of the six that I've been through have been "cheats" because of the special occasion.

Tomorrow Kevin comes back from camp, and I'm going to be driving up to see him. We may go to a movie or something, I'd like to show him some pictures of the wedding that was on Friday.

One thing that happened last week that needs to be noted is the activity on my web site. It has been upgraded and improved. I will keep this layout until I improve my skills as a web designer. Here is the link: http://www.students.dsu.edu/diaza.

June 30 - July 5

I don't really know why, but I haven't had much motivation to write in my blog. One, I find it hard to write on your blog/a blog when there hasn't been really much going on. Two, I've been really tired and what not lately. I stay up late and wake up early and haven't been able to go back to sleep. Though, I do take naps halfway through the day to compensate for the lack of quality sleep. It does bother me because I could use that time for something else.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What happened in this past week that you would like to blog about?:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friday, July 1st

Kevin had told me earlier on in the week that his friend Luke, who is a tall, insightful person, was having a LAN party at his house. While preparing to go, I had a small feeling that there would be some issues with having enough computers so I brought my own a book and a bible study that I had bought the day before that I am starting.

Sure enough, when I got there and we all settled in, there was a shortage of computers which didn't really bother me because I had brought my own to play The Sims 2 on. At these LAN parties they usually play games like Duke Nukem 3D, Atomic Duke Nukem, Doom, Quake, QuakeII, and Triad. All of which, with the exception of the Quake series, make me naucious when I play them. This is because when I play constantly I'm turning 180's to make sure that no one is sneaking up behind me. With the graphics and what not, I am easily sickened by the swirling screen.

So when I did play it was for only a round of Duke Nukem 3D. The other time I was playing The Sims 2, crocheting on the blanket I am working on for Kevin, doing the bible study, and and encouraging Kevin.

Saturday, July 2nd

Kevin and I had planned on going on a double date with Amber and Jon and doing something like golf or movie or both. It didn't work out, because Amber had forgotten the conversation and Jon didn't know about it in general. It's okay though, everyone forgets things now and then so I'm not angry or sad. n_n Kevin and I decided to and a date in the area since I was pretty sick of driving and going to Sioux Falls was more driving I didn't want to do.

In the whee(?) hours of the morning I whipped out a rhubarb cake for Kevin and prepared a piece with whipped cream on top. I arrived in Brookings a little bit later than usual. I had brought to albums of baby pictures to show to Kevin and I could tell he enjoyed looking at them. After the park and eating cake, we got a little hungry so we headed to the Chinese place for a little bite to eat. It was so cute cause Kevin opened the door for me and payed for the chinese. <3 style="font-weight: bold;">He is such a sweetheart, I don't deserve him
. <3>War of the Worlds. I hadn't read the books and was moderately leery about it since the television had informed my sister that the beginning was good and the rest went downhill afterward. She told us, which resulted in my hesitancy to watch it.

The movie itself was absolutely cool, just enough CG graphics to make it realistic but not overbearing. It's a great movie that I'd recommend to any science fiction lovers. Now, I want to read the book.

From there we went to Dairy Queen and had a mint chocolate chip blizzard, because it was so late (10) the place was beginning to close so we sat outside on the bench and talked for a while. I absolutely loved it, because we don't get many dates where we are alone and can just talk about how life is going and what's going on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday, July 3rd

Our day didn't start until a little later when mom had told me that we were going to go up to my sister's house to dinner. Grandma and some of my relatives (mostly aunts) where going to go up as well and we were all going to hang out. I was a little confused that no closer relatives weren't coming but didn't care because my family knows how to cook. =)

We had a good time hanging out. For about three hours I was passed out in one of my sister's spare rooms. This was definately another day that I just couldn't remain awake and we just happened to be at Mel's when I usually have my afternoon nap. I had called Kevin to see what he was up to, but apparently his family had already made plans on going to a picnic of his sister's former band directior. He didn't feel like he belonged and had hoped on going home and either finding Mark, a friend he hadn't seen but had gotten in contact with him because he was back for a weekend, or come to my sister's and watch the fireworks.

In the end, he got a hold of Mark and Corey and played video games most of the night. We shot off fireworks shortly(seconds) after hanging up with him. I did feel a little ackward because my nephew cam and cousin ridge were hanging out and busy, yet I was young enough that hanging out with my aunt, grandma, aunt, mom and sister was a little dull.

The fireworks that we watched were pretty and after some initial hesitation due to nearby trees we relocated where we could watch and enjoy them without worry. They saved some for the next day in which they planned on blowing some off.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monday, July 4th

The day was so slow and relaxing neither mom or i got ready do to our seperate things until about three o'clock in the afternoon. Mom was unusually sleepy, like she had been the day before and I was as well. After getting ready, I called up Kevin's place and told his dad that I was just leaving Winfred and would call once I got closer so they would know when they could leave for the community band concert.

When I got into town I attempted to buy gas at our normal gas station only to find that it was closed and the only way was to have a credit card or a debit card. This made me laugh because I have neither for good reason. So I drove to MDL (Madison Daily Liquor) and topped my gas tank off and headed toward Dairy Queen for a Mocha Moolatte to wake me up.

When I arrived in Brookings at Kevin's house, he was just finishing his shower and shortly after we headed to the park to eat the catered dinner held by Hyvee. I had a hamburger, ghetto chips, and two pops. The music was beautiful, the polka and Star Wars Saga compilation were my favorites. When the music was over we went back to their house for another twenty minutes. Kevin, Kim, and I decided to play a little smash bros. melee before going to the fireworks.

Swiftel was very full and some people parked in the weirdest places imaginable. We, were no different, we "created" a spot. The fireworks themselves were very pretty, though there wasn't enough of them for my tastes. We had sat next to the vehicle that we had taken, so that when it was over we could swiftly leave the area to avoid traffic. It worked for the most part, we didn't get held over in traffic despite the number of cars and other vehicles in the area.

Shortly after unloading the van, I said goodbye to Kevin's family. While saying goodbye to Kevin, we talked for about a half hour or so because it was two after midnight when I left his neighborhood. I love talking to that cute, silly, and delightful person! <3

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In general what's going on?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last week I got an interview for a work-study job at the building that isn't Heston. The lady that I was to work for said I was delightful and should begin this coming Wednesday. So, I"m going to have to call someone at work in a short period of time and see if they could work for me at Common Grounds, because I have to work 8 - whenever on Wednesday and work at Common Grounds 11:30 - 1:30pm which wouldn't work.

I'll have to tell them that I will possibly getting to half time jobs, and can work for them if they really need me to from 5pm - 8pm on weekdays or some weekends. I'm just not getting enough hours at Common Grounds to merit sticking with it and not having more hours somewhere else. So, if they need me and are short of hands I could come in.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dood, stop talking!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess I should let you go and go about my business of waking up and foraging for food. L8r
